1301 Lenox

1301 Lenox is a streamlined art deco home designed by famed architect Henry Maloney. Built in 1938, it is the only single family residential building designed by Maloney, whose work includes the Hotel Shelley, The Lafayette, and The Edwards Hotel, all in Miami Beach.

After the home suffered decades of vacancy and neglect, the new owners Michael Chetcuti and Kyle Evans have planned an extensive rehabilitation and expansion of the dwelling. The new plans include preservation of the architecturally significant facade in combination with a thoroughly modern addition to the rear of the property. The interior will retain original art deco detailing interwoven with classic but modern finishes and the latest in technological amenities. The end result will yield 4 bedrooms and 5 1/2 baths, a 1st floor courtyard with green walls and a reflecting pond, a large chef's kitchen with full bar, a lushly planted pool area with cabana and sun deck, and a large master suite with luxurious dressing room and dramatic indoor outdoor spa.
