1976 Wagoneer

The '76 Wagoneer base was modified extensively to retain important aesthetic features of classic Wagoneers on an entirely new chassis and powertrain. The new 6.2L all-aluminum V8 motor paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission sits on a completely modern chassis with all new long-arm suspension components from a TJ Wrangler, giving the Wagoneer a more off-road capable stance and full capability. Close attention was paid to maintain the original wheel openings while producing a full 14" of wheel travel. The razor grille was grafted onto the body  to mask the structural tube bumpers and D-rings connected directly to the frame rails for further off-road functionality.

The interior carries the same 70's theme to maintain an original look with custom designed and fabricated interior elements including re-contoured seats, wood plank cargo flooring, shag carpets, and an air compressor compartment. Featuring orange and brown plaid on tan vinyl for full seventies kitsch effect.

The overall result is an extremely capable, thoroughly modern vehicle that maintains a nostalgic appeal. To prove it's capability, the '76 was featured in Peterson's 4 Wheel & Off-road magazine and put through the rigors of Moab Utah's infamous trails.
